ADAM & THE ANTS, 'Live The Lyceum, London 22.4.79'.

Here's yet another Ants recording from the pile, it's audience and a bit rough round the edges but it's the only set I have that they do 'Ligotage' so I love it just for that. Plus anyone who has ever been to the Lyceum will flash back and appreciate that classic Lyceum Ballroom echo on it. Enjoy !

RADICAL DANCE FACTION. 'Live The Square, Harlow 23.1.93'

Sorry for the delay in posting this, I have been asked quite a few times for more RDF stuff so here it is. Massive thanks to my 'patient on line helper' for this, it's another gem, brilliant S/B recording. This is the same show that the track 'Martin Foran' was taken from and appears on 'The Herts & Essex Hunt Sabs'  benefit tape and also the ' Biting Back ' compilation cd released on Words Of Warning Records. I still have a few more to post so please keep watching this space and if anyone has any photos etc of RDF around this time I would be grateful for owt to use in the next post, enjoy ! SEX PISTOLS - 100 Club, 'Punk Festival' 20.9.76

Here's the audience recording of the Sex Pistols set from this famous 100 Club gig, again it aint the best of quality and it seems a bit fast to me. Also for some reason  tracks 6 & 7 are from another gig, if anyone has a better recording or the missing tracks I loved to know and get a copy ! Thanks to pilhead for his help with this and I looking forward to his return very soon!!

SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES - 100 CLUB 'PUNK FESTIVAL' - 20.9.76

As promised another classic bit of history, 'Suzie & The Banshees' first ever live performance at the 100 Club London. I was gonna do a bit on this famous gig but as usual I went hunting for a photo and came across a great site Straighten Out, so click on the name and find out all about it and loads more.

The band played about a 24 minute continuous set which consisted of Susie shrieking the words to the Lord's Prayer, incorporating, Twist & Shout, Deutschland Uber Alles, Knocking On Heavens Door, Satisfaction, Smoke On The Water and more.

The line up was Susie - vocals, Steve Severin - bass, Marco Pirroni - guitar and Sid Vicious - drums.

It's an audience recording and a bit rough again.

I do have the Sex Pistols and The Clash's recordings from this gig unall if anyone wants.

SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES, 'Live - The Vortex Club 11.7.77

Here's the Siouxsie set from the previous posts gig, a lot better quality but still an audience one.  I love the really early 'S & T B' stuff and I knew somewhere lay this recording, the line up for this gig were,

John Mckay had only just joined replacing Pete Fenton, it's a great set, I also have their first performance at the 100 Club, Punk Festival 1976 if anyone is interested, it's an okay recording but well worth a listen!!

As I mentioned this is a very rough recording so be warned but it is a classic bit of Ant history for die hard fans. I found this at the end of another live tape, tried to make it sound better but no luck! This is the earliest live recording I know from them.
If anyone has a better version please share it or even any earlier goodies ?

THE ASTRONAUTS - 'Live An Club, Athens, Greece 19.5.07'.

Firstly a bit belated but Happy Birthday Mark for Sunday hope it was a good un !
This is a blistering, very energetic, long set from The Astronauts, audience recording but an excellent one with loads of old, new stuff, and they sound fuckin' great, really enjoy the sound this line up brings to Marks vocals the new tracks that they keep producing are blinding! Can't wait till the new release ??
Anyway a massive thanks to M B for sending me this, has to now be one of me fav' live recordings from them.

CAPONE & THE BULLETS - ' The Apollo, Glasgow 25.4.92'

One of Scotlands best Ska bands in my opion, as quoted by 'Buster Bloodvessel' and the few times I saw them I would agree. I was first introduced to Capone & The Bullets at a rally in Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow and at that time there seemed to be loads of band members but then the next time I saw them at the Apollo they had just 5 I think ? The main driving force behind the band has always been front man and trumpeter Chaz Fraser, this cassette was given to me back in 1992 by one of the band members and it's a cracking soundboard recording, tight,energetic ska at it's best. I don't know if  Chaz is still doing his thing, I hope so, because they were brilliant !!
Ps I also have this in flac is anyone wants ??

DOG FACED HERMANS - Live Cultuurcentrum Ekko, Utrecht, Holland 3.2.94

You don't come across many DFH's live recording and not many as good as this one, it's a belter . Again I have been given very kind permission to post this but only in FLAC format which I will. A massive thanks to 'Dutch Punk' for this, one of the most hits this blog gets is for the DFH's Manchester gig so here's another. Can anyone help 'DP' who is looking for a copy of A Dog Faced Hermans, VHS compilation from 1996 made by 'Unbend Films' if anyone can help please get in contact ! This is a
soundboard recording done with the kind permission of Marion plus the kind help of  the soundboard engineer who pushed some buttons to make this sound great!!
Dog Faced Hermans went together with De Kift on a short dutch tour in Holland
as a warm-up for the US tour later that year, great set, and great mix of old and new song. Cheers again Dutch Punk for this I really appreciate it and hope I can return the favour in tracking down that VHS for you.

THE ASTRONAUTS - 'Live London 1979'.

Found this little gem the other day and 'PJ' has very kindly agreed to me posting it here for your pleasure but, so here it is an excellent short set from 'The Chippington Vault' of goodies. There is loads more Astronaut stuff on the brilliant 'my little bubble' blog including a cracking set from this years Rebellion festival which included old and new material. So enjoy the old with new and a big thanks to 'PJ' again for sharing this with us and after a gentle arm twist letting me post in mp3 and flac, we are all very grateful !!

ADAM ANT - 'Matthew Ashman' - Tribute - The Scala - 21.11.10

Another unexpected, very kindly sent, gig from Adam Ant and friends which was performed as a tribute to 'Matthew Ashman'  who sadly died on this date in 1995 at the young age of 35, his death was due to diabetes related complications, a great loss !!!
This is a perfect audience recording and has most of the songs I loved from The Ants, the band sound fuckin' brilliant as does Adam, nearest he's sounded to the old days!  I also found this review of the gig at The Scala London so read away and enjoy, I found at the end of one of me tapes an Ants gig from 1977 at The Vortex which I've been humming and harring about posting as the quality is rough, but it's a piece of classic history, do you want it???
