MARK ASTRONAUT. Live The Saracen's Head, Doncaster 12.5.88

 First thing is there anybody out there, I have only one comment and one follower,
 (Thanx  NPW), any advise, help on how to get more traffic ??

 The Astronauts were always playing locally  but never really got the credit they  deserved, they are brilliant musically and  lyrically. I was fortunate to see them quite a  few times, the first time being in Welwyn
 Garden City on The Campus.
 I think it was a peace festival but again my  memory ain't what it used to be, I  do remember seeing them, any help?
 This is an acoustic set, audience recording,  Mark Wilkins did in 1988 and covers tracks
 from all the  early Lp's.
 I have  also put on a couple of extra tracks I  found.
 If you like what you hear get the Lp's,  there's a link on their name which should  help and also give you the history of the band !

RUDIMENTARY PENI. "Troubled Times Radio Interview".

Found this in another box, again I wasn't gonna post it
but after a listen I had to.
It's very rare to find an interview with Rudimentary Peni, let alone a pirate radio station. This was done by Troubled Times Radio from America in March 1988 and is another real gem. The questions are a bit on the basic side but the answers from bassist Grant Mathews make it. Plus there's music in between and the rumors are stopped ! At times it's hard to hear the answers as it was done over the phone but just turn it up and enjoy!! I loved this band and still do come to that, I spent many a night with a 'brew' gazing at Nicks artwork and trying to sus out the lyrics.
They're still releasing material and  Nick Blinko still does his
artwork, I have a few decent live recordings which I will post soon.

THE FITS. "You Named Us", Tape.

I know this has been posted by other blogs but I had to put it in me collection as I was in contact with Mick for a good few years so new a bit about the band and their ups and downs over the years,the struggles and Micks dislike of Blackpool etc. (Good tattoo studio tho)
I was always trying to get me local, Bowes Lyon in Stevenage to put them on, but alas the time I move away they played.
Anyway I love this tape Its The Fits at some of their best and the interview is priceless.
They were another great band who I was very fond of.
Mick I hope your well !!

ZOUNDS - Live Leiden Holland - Spring - 1982.

I first saw Zounds play in Letchworth, Herts a good few years ago now, can't remember the venue, when or who supported but as ever they blew me away, if anyone can help my memory with the gig mentioned please leave a comment.

Anyway the cassette converted is S/B quality and a great set, enjoy!

Toxik Ephex. Live Nottingham ?

Early introduction to Toxik Ephex  for me was on the second Crass "Bullshit Detector" with Police Brutality.
Wasn't until a good few years later I managed to see them live and see what a great band they were.
Classic 'Punk as Fuck' sound they would always put  so much energy into their gigs especially Dod.
Hope they are all still well as they're all great guys, enjoy and if you like it leave a comment as I have more !!
Don't know the date of this gig so if anyone has any details please tell, its a great cassette recording anyhow !

Omega Tribe. Live Bradford 3.3.83

Soundboard recording of  Omega Tribe, unfortunately I never got to see them probably live, the only time I got close was one year at Stonehenge but they were forced off the the stage by a certain group of people who didn't want them to play. I sat there in the field still waiting for them to come back on while all this commotion was happening around me. For some strange substance my legs wouldn't let me leave, so I think that was what happened??

Minor Threat. Live Washington.D.C 23.9.83 (Last Gig)

Another of the few American bands I got into in the early days, I always followed what Ian Mackaye was up to and still do come to that.

Was really disappointed when they split but I didn't have to wait long before Fugazi came along and blew me away I have loads of live stuff from them and I love the more recent Evens as well.

The Meteors. Live, 100 Club London. 1.12.81

I wasn't gonna put this on but after listening to it again I had to, sound quality is a bit varied, I missed the encore and some of the song titles I'm not sure of,  but that doesn't spoil from this classic, brilliant piece of original Meteors, line up, history !!

Both Paul Fenech (Meteors) and Nigel Lewis ( and the Zorchmen) are still gigging and producing lps,

Nigel Lewis recently released, "That Ain't What I Call Rock 'n' Roll" which is a cracker and well worth a buy.
